Why Iași is the ideal place for literature enthusiasts - FILIT Iași

Iași

Are you a literature lover looking for a place to indulge your passion and meet like-minded people? We have the perfect experience for you! The Iasi International Literature and Translation Festival (FILIT) brings together writers, translators, editors, literary critics and many other specialists in this field both from Romania and abroad. The festival has been organized annually since 2013 by the National Museum of Romanian Literature in Iași.

The festival is organized at the initiative of the Iași-based authors Dan Lungu, Florin Lăzărescu and Lucian Dan Teodorovici who assume different roles in the organization of this festival. During 23 to 27 October of 2024 you will have the chance to take part in the 13th edition of what the Spanish daily El Pais calls “the biggest literary festival in Eastern Europe”.

Beyond the many events scattered throughout the city during the five days of the festival you will have the chance to visit exhibitions where you will learn about the literature as well as the culture and history of  Romania.
